Question 1

What is the Doply service?

Accepted Answer

Due to Google Play Store policy changes, you must pass the "Closed Testing Track" as a prerequisite to publish your app to production. It's very difficult for individuals to gather 12 or more testers and maintain testing status for 14 days. This service automates and systematizes this process to help you pass the closed testing track easily and quickly.

Question 2

What services does Doply provide for passing the closed testing track?

Accepted Answer

Doply provides comprehensive services for closed testing success:

Tester Management
• Provide verified tester pool (minimum 14 ~ maximum 16 testers)
• Monitor and manage tester activities

Technical Support
• Install and test apps on real Android devices
• Automate app launch, updates, and installation version checks

Production Application Support
• Create production application survey content
• Analyze rejection reasons and provide reapplication guidance
• Free 18-day testing period extension if production is rejected despite 2+ updates

Question 3

Are there any app types you do not support?

Accepted Answer

TWA (Trusted Web Activity) apps currently cannot go through closed testing. If your app is identified as a TWA after payment, a refund is not available, so please check before applying.

Supported
• Native apps, and apps built with native WebView, Flutter, or Capacitor
• Paid apps (supported with a 100% discount promotion during the test)

Not supported
• TWA (Trusted Web Activity) apps

About paid apps
Our testers cannot install paid apps automatically. Use the discount feature in Play Console to set a 100% discount for the closed testing period. Do not switch the app to free: Google does not let a free app go back to paid. A discount has a start and end date, so your app returns to its original price once testing is over. See Google's official guide for the exact steps.

Question 4

Are there SDK version requirements for my app?

Accepted Answer

Doply's test devices run Android 13 and 14.

• Minimum SDK (minSdk): Set it to Android 13 (API 33) or below. If it is API 34 or higher, the app cannot be installed on our test devices.
• Target SDK (targetSdk): Set it to 36 or 37.

All Doply testers use Korean accounts, so your release countries must include South Korea (Republic of Korea) for testers to install the app. This applies to the closed testing track only — you can exclude South Korea from your production track later. See the "Get Started" page in the side menu for details.

Question 5

Why is closed testing necessary?

Accepted Answer

This is a mandatory process before officially releasing an app on the Google Play Store. Through 14 days of closed testing, you verify app stability and can then receive production release approval.

Question 6

How long is the closed testing period?

Accepted Answer

According to Google Play policy, closed testing runs for 14 days. Doply provides a total of 18 days of service — the 14-day required period plus a 4-day buffer. During this period, app stability and quality are verified, and tester feedback can be collected. After 14 days, production track application becomes possible.

Question 7

How do I register testers?

Accepted Answer

You can upload a tester list as a CSV file in Google Play Console or register by directly entering email addresses. You can download the tester list from the 'Testers' page in the side menu.

Each Doply test device is signed in with a different tester account, so please register every tester on the list. If you register only some of them, there may not be enough installable devices to start testing. After registering, be sure to save, and wait until the review in Play Console is complete before using 'Refind Installable Devices'.

Question 8

Why are app updates necessary?

Accepted Answer

According to Google Play Store policy, you must demonstrate continuous app development and improvement during the closed testing period. Updates show that the app is being actively managed and allow you to apply improvements based on tester feedback. Additionally, apps without recent updates are increasingly being rejected in Google reviews, making this essential.

Question 9

How often should I update?

Accepted Answer

You must update at least once during the closed testing period (14 days). Cases of projects without recent updates being rejected are increasing, so caution is needed.
Doply recommends at least 2 updates, and if you proceed with 2 or more updates, we provide a free 18-day testing period extension if your production application is rejected.

Question 10

Is it okay if I have previous rejection experience?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it's no problem at all. Even if you have previous Google Play Store approval rejections, you can use Doply service. You can actually get better results by analyzing rejection reasons and finding improvements for reapplication. We also provide know-how on response methods based on rejection reasons and how to increase approval probability.

Question 11

How do I check tester activity?

Accepted Answer

You can check testers' installation and activity status in the 'User Acquisition' > 'Closed Testing' section of Google Play Console. You need to monitor actual installation numbers, active user count, crash reports, etc. If tester activity is low, you should invite additional testers or request active participation from existing testers.

Question 12

How long does production approval take?

Accepted Answer

After submitting the Google survey, you can generally receive approval results within 2-3 business days. Support for survey writing is also provided.

Question 13

What happens if approval is rejected?

Accepted Answer

You can check the rejection reason, fix the issue, and reapply. Main rejection reasons include insufficient closed testing period (less than 14 days), insufficient tester activity, lack of app updates, policy violations, app quality issues, etc. After applying improvements for each reason, closed testing will need to be conducted again for 14 days.

Question 14

How can I get technical support?

Accepted Answer

You can contact us anytime at doply@doply.io. We provide professional support for all issues that arise during the app release process.

Question 15

Do you help with survey writing?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we provide professional support for writing surveys for Google production approval. We share know-how to increase approval probability.

Question 16
